En 1946, le monde découvrait un atoll des îles Marshall : Bikini. En 1947, le couturier français Louis Réard s'emparait de ce nom pour en faire un vêtement de bain pour les femmes. Rompant avec des décennies de conformisme, M. Réard choisissait de dénuder leur corps pour mieux l'habiller, de quelques morceaux d'étoffe. En adoptant le bikini sur les plages, les femmes sont amenées à porter un nouveau regard sur elles-mêmes.
