The Life and Death of Krishnamurti

The Life and Death of Krishnamurti

Autor: Mary Lutyens

Número de Páginas: 277

J Krishnamurti (1896-1986) was one of the most important spiritual leaders of his time. Discovered by the Theosophist as a boy in India, he was groomed by them as the new Messiah, a role he rejected when he set out independently on his own spiritual quest. Travelling the world, lecturing and teaching, he acquired an enormous following, including many eminent statesmen and intellectuals. As one of Krishnamurti’s closest friends and devotees, Mary Lutyens is uniquely qualified to write his biography. Indeed, she has written three previous volumes on him, but only after his death in 1986 did she feel able to produce this book, bringing the life and philosophy of this fascinating and complex man into true perspective.

The Blavatskian and Biblical Roots of Krishnamurti’s Imagined Role

The Blavatskian and Biblical Roots of Krishnamurti’s Imagined Role

Autor: Al Boag

Número de Páginas: 278

This book focuses on Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895–1986) and charts the development of his teaching. It covers the period from 1922, when Krishnamurti claimed he was “God,” until his death, including his declarations to be the World Teacher and eventual departure from the Theosophical Society. The author explores the understanding transmitted to Krishnamurti by his mentors as an inheritance from Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831–1891), the Theosophical Society co‐founder who is associated with the practice of occult breathless meditation. This book highlights that Krishnamurti’s writings and talks reveal his unacknowledged appropriation of the vocabulary of profound biblical motifs. It considers how Krishnamurti fashioned his life and teaching on the New Testament Gospels’ composite biography of Jesus and on biblical eschatological and Christological texts. The study will be of particular interest to students and scholars of esotericism, new religious movements and the history of religions.

During this time span, Krishnamurti gave talks in England and India. In this volume, Krishnamurti introduces the material as a form of a discussion. He asks those listening to engage in the material along with him. "What I propose to do during these discussions is to think outwith each one of you this extraordinarily complex problem of living. You know this problem is not confined to a narrow area. All over the world it is the same. We are confused; we do not know what to do; and we do not know how to set about it or to discover why each group is fighting the other."

Krishnamurti para leer en 30 minutos

Autor: Carlos Morrone

From Blavatsky to Krishnamurti: “It is Finished”

From Blavatsky to Krishnamurti: “It is Finished”

Autor: Al Boag

Número de Páginas: 286

This book highlights some important continuities as well as differences between the teachings of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831–1891), co‐founder of the Theosophical Society in 1875, and Krishnamurti Jiddu (1895–1986), the Theosophist who was trained to be the World Teacher. Until now very little has been written of the importance to Blavatsky of an esoteric eschatology and Christology, and their relation to the secret core of her Path of Initiation: the practice of an occult breathless meditation. Similarly, scholarly research has overlooked the evidence that Krishnamurti eviscerated the secret core of Blavatsky’s teaching with his own esoteric interpretation of it, which exists in his published work as the camouflaged core of his teaching. Offering a fresh appraisal, this work draws on careful exploration of the primary source material of Blavatsky and Krishnamurti as well as his Theosophical mentors Annie Besant (1847–1933) and Charles Webster Leadbeater (1854–1934). It will be of particular interest to students and scholars of esotericism, new religious movements and the history of religions.

Isis modernista.

The Inner Life of Krishnamurti

The Inner Life of Krishnamurti

Autor: Aryel Sanat

Número de Páginas: 348

Aryel Sanat's meticulously researched and cogently argued exploration of Krishnamurti's inner life and experiences explodes a number of popular myths about Krishnamurti, particularly that he denied the existence of the Theosophical Masters and disdained the esoteric side of the spiritual path. Rather, Sanat persuasively demonstrates, Krishnamurti had a rich and intense esoteric life. Moreover, the truths of the Ancient Wisdom, as revealed through the Masters, were a reality to Krishnamurti every day of his life, from his boyhood until his death. The real story of Krishnamurti's inner life is shown to have critical implications for our understanding of Krishnamurti's life and ideas and for our views of Theosophy, Buddhism, the teachings of Gurdjieff---indeed, the entirety of contemporary spiritual thought.

J. Krishnamurti and Educational Practice

J. Krishnamurti and Educational Practice

Autor: Meenakshi Thapan

Número de Páginas: 439

First in the series on Education and Society in South Asia, this volume focuses on the educational thought of a world-renowned teacher, thinker, and writer—Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895–1986). This edited volume examines Krishnamurti’s work and explores his contemporary relevance in educational endeavours and practices in different parts of the country. The contributors to the volume argue that Krishnamurti sought to change the way education is perceived, from the mere teaching of curriculum into a life-changing experience of learning from relationships and life. Through a range of essays that address diverse issues and themes, the contributors seek to uncover the practices and processes at some of the institutions that Krishnamurti established in different parts of rural and urban India. These include essays on curriculum building, inclusive education, pedagogy, debates on educational philosophy and practice, and teacher education. They help bring out the barriers and breakthroughs in the educational processes as practiced in these schools and how they may further be applied to other educational institutions.

J. Krishnamurti: A Life of Compassion beyond Boundaries

Autor: Roshen Dalal

Número de Páginas: 434

Among the most famous visionaries of our times, J. Krishnamurti (1895–1986) continues to transform thought, lifestyles, and education across continents more than three decades after his death. In this new biography, tracing the nine long decades of his life, from his growing-up years, his relationships to his writings and talks, Roshen Dalal provides a much-needed corrective – an objective and balanced view of his legacy. Adopted by Theosophists at the age of fourteen, and proclaimed a world teacher and messiah, in 1929, Krishnamurti dissolved the Order of the Star created for him and went on to develop his own philosophy. What is it about his ideas that draws the following of generations of people? Delivered to a divided world then, what makes his message so relevant now? While his ideas on education are idealistic, why do they continue to be everlasting in their contribution and appeal? Krishnamurti’s vision is of a world without boundaries or wars, a world where compassion and goodness predominate, and his message is that such a world can be arrived at only through individual transformation.B24 There is no direct path to transformation, yet through intense perception and...

Quirón

Autor: Bernadette Sauzea , Catalina Juan Torres

J. Krishnamurti

J. Krishnamurti

Autor: Meenakshi Thapan

Número de Páginas: 89

Teacher, thinker, writer, and speaker, J. Krishnamurti (1895–1986) was an Indian educationist, spiritual leader, and key figure in world philosophy. He raised significant questions about the state of the world, about our tendency to remain passive, conditioned, and in a state of overwhelming confusion about how we relate to the world. Through talks and writings spread over many decades and geographical locations, he articulated an unconditioned, reflective approach which emphasised self-inquiry. This volume provides an understanding of Krishnamurti’s views on the human predicament in a disintegrating world, marked by conflict, divisions, wars, and climate change. It also examines his educational thought and its enormous potential for change. Krishnamurti argued that our minds are so conditioned that we are unable to look, listen, or learn without our prior knowledge that foregrounds the role of memory and time. He highlighted the need to work with young children, with a special focus on the school as the centrepiece of his perception for psychological development and educational excellence. It is within an educational setting that Krishnamurti hoped that the seeds for...

Krishnamurti en questions

Krishnamurti en questions

Autor: Jiddu Krishnamurti
